2008 Polaris Trail Boss 330 came into my fathers garage guy said the fan stays on and the temperature light stays on even with key off. So check everything found out Polaris did not put any fuses or relays in this model. Some how polarity got reversed and it burnt the ground from the coil to the ECM and burnt the key switch. So repaired wires put inline fuses new ECM and Key switch runs great.

Popping and cracking lack of power, cooling fan runs all the time. This is what i found, customer had road with a dead battery and after a wile ridding it would run rough. After some research i found that you should never ride with a dead battery the reason why is that the ECM looks at the charge of the battery and if it sees a low or dead battery the ECM tells the charging system to charge wide open and causes the ECM to over heat and burn out after a while. Also i found that you should never charge the battery while it is hooked up to the ATV the reason why is that you can over heat the ECM and burn it out that way also. And never try to jump start the ATV with a battery charger this is why you can over heat the ECM and catch fire and burn the ATV to the ground. Some polaris ATVs have a plastic box that houses the ECM these will catch fire. If you need to charge your battery unhook it from the ATV. If the ATV i am talking about would have had one of those ECM with a plastic box it would have caught the atv on fire. The ECM had caught fire but had a metal housing and was sealed so the fire did not get out of the box. And i will say this about 2wheelpros they have the cheapest price on ATV parts on the planet and the also have OEM parts and they have aftermarket parts.
